I'm a knitting fool
As the title says... My latest accomplishment is a baby sweater vest with a cable pattern. It took about 3 weeks, even after I forgot to make the armholes and had to undo half of the front piece. The cabling wasn't hard, but it was extrememly tedious, and I'm not sure it was entirely worth it for a baby vest. Anyway, I made it for my little brother who just turned one on February 9th. Considering his age, I guess I really made it for my step-mom. :-) I think it turned out well. We'll see how it looks on him!

Pieces
From the moment that we met
My world was turned around
Upside down
To some degree I still regret
My memory
For keeping you around
I thought that you were mine
But my broken heart's been shattered
One too many times
And I don't want to see you anymore
I'm just not that strong
I love it when you're here
But I'm better when you're gone
I'm certain that I've given
And oh how you can take
There's no use in you looking
There's nothing left for you to break
Baby please release me
Let my heart rest
In pieces
Someone let you down again
So you turn to me
Your convenient friend
Oh but I know what you're doing
And what you hope to find
I've seen it a thousand times
All the fire we had before
Are now just bitter ashes
Left scattered on the floor
And I don't want to see you anymore
I'm just not that strong
I love it when you're here
But I'm better when you're gone
I'm certain that I've given
And oh how you can take
There's no use in you looking
There's nothing left for you to break
Baby please release me
Let my heart rest
In pieces

The Dress
So, here's more of the story about the dress... A friend of mine has identical twin girls, Sydney and Olivia. We saw the pattern for the dress, and Lisa really wanted the dresses for her girls for their 1 year portraits. A coworker volunteered to make the 2nd dress, so there are two dresses for the two girls. Lisa doesn't want me to leave Sydney out of the picture show, so here she is, front and center. Olivia got the pink ribbon, and Sydney got the creme ribbon. I think they tasted equally good. :-)

I'm it!
“People who get tagged need to write a blog post of 6 weird things about them as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”
I've been tagged by Nicole Wilson. I don't think I know 6 other people who have blogs! I am tagging Lesley Garmon, Amanda Oakes, Misty Whitesides, and Cliff Webster... That's all I know!
These are just the things I can think of today. There are many, many more...
1. I love, love, love the NFL and Fantasy Football. Sure, this isn't weird for the male population of the US, but for a woman to be as addicted as I am... kinda weird. It's worked out pretty well for me, though. Once I had a guy tell me, "You are the sexiest woman I know who hasn't shown me her tits."
2. One time in middle school English, I misspelled the word 'weird'. You know, I followed the i-before-e-except-after-c rule that doesn't apply here. I got a big fat 0 on the assignment, and I've never forgotten it. To my knowledge, I've never misspelled the word again.
3. I'm an avid knitter; it's my favorite hobby. I started in 2003, I think, when a coworker was pregnant. I made her son a blanket and managed to finish it before he turned 1. So, I've been knitting since I was 23, and I've definitely endured many variations of the question, "What are you - 65 years old?" I've made a lot of baby blankets and scarves, and just recently branched out and made a baby dress. I'm so proud of myself, and I'm no longer scared to make clothes. I feel like I'm just getting started; there are so many things I'd love to make in the near future. Here's a pic of the dress (and the recipient), because I'm so proud of the accomplishment.

4. I probably have the thickest Southern accent of any Asian you'll ever meet. Enough said.
5. I am a total believer in astrology - not so much the horoscope part (even though I read mine everyday), but definitely the personality part. I've never read anything about a Scorpio that wasn't true about me, and reading about the other zodiac signs has helped me learn how to deal with other people's personalities. Seriously. I also am fascinated by tarot cards. They're awesome.
6. I read when I dry my hair every morning. It takes a long time, and I get bored. Thank God for the inventor of book weights.
